Development Micro and Fujitsu got down to safe linked autos

Cybersecurity giant Trend Micro has partnered with Fujitsu on a solution to secure connected vehicles.

The pair are collaborating with “automotive-related” manufacturers to ensure the solution meets their needs.

A V-SOC (Vehicle-Security Operation Center) is the core service at the centre of the solution—featuring an abnormality attack detection engine, vital data collection for incident response, and monitoring analysis notifications.

On the backend, Trend Micro’s Cloud One is used to protect the infrastructure containing threat information.

Working in tandem, both core elements of the solution enables the detection of vehicle abnormalities – such as gas pedal and brake malfunctions – while adding detection capabilities for unauthorised communications and attempts to tamper with telematics servers.

The new solution will be rolled out globally, including in Japan, Europe, the United States, and the APAC region to automotive manufacturers, automotive suppliers, automotive leasing, and car rental companies.

Going forward, Fujitsu says it plans to “promote efforts toward realising smart cities with mobility as a point of departure, leveraging a variety of vehicular and traffic data collected in areas such as autonomous driving and logistics.”

Trend Micro, for its part, will continue to focus on solutions to ensure the security of the increasing number of connected vehicles.
